What Cut Colon Cancer Risk?

Daily aspirin may cut the risk of colon cancer in those with a certain hereditary colon cancer syndrome known as Lynch syndrome. This data was presented at the September 2009 European Cancer Organization and European Society forMedical Oncology.
About Aspirin:
Over the past 100 years, aspirin has been used more than any other medication for the prevention and control of pain. It works by inhibiting the body's production of a hormone-like substance called prostaglandin, which is one of the building blocks that causes pain by stimulating muscle contractions and blood vessel dilation.1

Fast Facts:

* Aspirin may be used for mild to moderate pain and fever. In lower doses, aspirin also has properties as an inhibitor of platelet aggregation to treat transient ischemic attacks, unstable angina, and heart attacks.2
* Side effects of aspirin may include gastrointestinal bleeding, tinnitus and reye's syndrome in children.2
* Aspirin is excreted in breastmilk and should be avoided during pregnancy.2
